The Newby Bridge Hotel is independently owned and is part of three establishments within the South Lakes Group. It has 45 en suite bedrooms with restaurant, bar and leisure club. The bedrooms are situated on three floors within the hotel and in 2 other detached blocks to the side of the hotel. There is no lift. We have one disabled room situated on the ground floor which is situated to the rear of Reception and offers a wet room.

The nearest train station is situated in Grange over Sands.

There is a private Car Park located next to the front of the Hotel free of charge to guests
We do ask that customers park sensibly allowing other cars to pass.

There are two designated “disabled” car parking spaces to the side of the front door
There is a slight slope from the car park to the front door.
There is a ramped entrance to the main entrance.
We offer assistance with luggage on request.

The Main Entrance leads to Reception, Bar, Restaurant and Lounge
The floor is level and is carpeted throughout.
The Reception is on the ground floor, along with the Bar, Lounge and Restaurant areas.
The bar area has wooden flooring.

Our corridors are well lit and carpeted.
The Bar area has a wooden floor.
There is one door leading to the Restaurant with two fire exits.
There is a door leading into the Bar area.
There are toilets situated on the ground and first floors. Gents toilets are on ground floor accessed via a slope. Ladies are on the first floor. Additional toilets with disabled access are located on the ground floor in our leisure centre.
The fire alarm system is bells and does not have flashing lights.
Assistance will be given in the event of an evacuation.

The majority of seating is moveable with arms – there is fixed window seating
Background music is provided in the Restaurant and Bar area
Full Waiter service provided in the restaurant and on request in the Bar
Well lit and airy Restaurant, Bar and Lounge Areas.
The lounge is made up of armed chairs, sofas and small coffee tables

There are 11 ground floor bedrooms although only one is specifically classed as being suitable for disabled persons
All rooms have baths with shower over with the exception of the disabled bedroom
Disabled bedroom incorporates walk in shower and adapted bathroom, light switches and plugs.
Non slip bath mats are provided in all bathrooms.

The leisure club is situated at the rear of the hotel and is a reasonably long walk from the main reception including 3 steps.
It is possible to drive to the rear of the hotel and park to access the leisure club with no steps

As a 3 Star AA Quality Standard Hotel, we are committed to providing a high level of customer service. Whilst the physical limitations of the existing building may impose some constraints on what we are able to do, we fully intend to comply with current regulations and good practice. We have tried to make all the hotel as wheelchair accessible as possible.
The Newby Bridge Hotel aims to ensure that all employees, guests and others are treated equally and according to their needs. Staff training in Disability Awareness is part of the staff development programme, in compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
